Tapered

A tapered stole has a curved, fitted neckline. It is approximately 2-3" wide at the back of the neck and lays flat against the neck without "bunching." The sides taper to a width of approximately 4" - 5" at the ends. A tapered stole is ideal for use under a chasuble, because it lays flat. It is also a classic choice for wearing over a robe.

I also offer a narrow version of the tapered stole for clergy with smaller frames. It has a maximum neck width of 2 inches, and maximum width at the ends of 4 inches. Most of the plain stoles with no added design and some of the simpler designs I offer can be adapted to the narrow tapered style. If a design is compatible with a narrow style, it will have an option to make that change.
