This quality handmade deacon stole is an adaptation of my pulpit stole design, "Were you there?", which depicts the three crosses on the hill of Calvary. The road invites the viewer in to the scene, drawing the eye to the prominent cross of Christ, yet gives the option to pass by after lingering to contemplate the significance of the three crosses, and our place among them. The angular depiction of the crosses and the irregular perspective draws us in to the chaos and confusion of a day unimaginable by those who loved Jesus. The dramatic colors add to the traumatic nature of the event.
