I love the symbol of the butterfly for resurrection. The caterpillar appears to die, and in fact, it ceases to exist as a caterpillar. Yet there is life when the cocoon opens, and what was once a caterpillar emerges as something more. It is still the same creature that went into the cocoon, but that death-like sleep has transformed it into the final, beautiful creature that God ultimately designed it to be. So we, at the moment of resurrection, will be transformed, maintaining our individual identities, but reborn as the perfect creation God planned from before the beginning of time.
This beautiful batik fabric in yellows and golds is ideal for Easter season when we remember Jesus's resurrection as the first born among His brothers and sisters, looking forward to our own resurrection when He comes again.
