NOTE: CHANGES WILL BE MADE TO SKIN COMPONENTS ON THE SHEPHERD. Since the eye lines do not show up very well in photographs, I will change the skin to a solid color, and will update the photos when I make the next one.
Jesus told this parable: “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’ Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance." Luke 15:3-7 NIV
This design depicts the moment of rescue, when the Good Shepherd finds his lost sheep and frees it from the mess it has gotten itself into by straying so far from the Good Shepherd. It is a moment of grace and mercy when the Good Shepherd wraps the lost sheep in love before putting it on his shoulders to return to the flock.
