Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Hebrews 12:1
The metaphor of the caterpillar becoming a butterfly is one of the ways I teach the concept of resurrection to children. I particularly like the imagery of the caterpillar becoming all that it was created to be by way of a transforming "death." When I saw this fabric, it reminded me of the multitude of saints waiting to be transformed, like so many caterpillars waiting to get their wings. It is these saints, awaiting the resurrection, who are the cloud of witnesses; whose faith in the face of tribulation, persecution, and all kinds of oppression encourages our endurance to the finish.
