Advent begins four Sundays before Christmas
The first Sunday of Advent is the beginning of the liturgical calendar. The color can be either blue or purple. The color of the third Sunday in Advent (Gaudete) is often rose. Some churches use purple for both Advent and Lent.
Stoles for Christmas
Christmas is celebrated on the first and second Sundays after Christmas (or including Christmas day if it falls on a Sunday). The color is white or off-white.
